'Teasel' is the eleventh print in my 2019 Print Project.
It is a 3 colour linocut print depicting a Teasel seed packet illustration.
Designed and printed by Sophie.
The print is a limited edition of 20.
Each print has been editioned and signed.

Teasels are one of those plants that I really like when they are at their seed head stage. Commonly found in the British countryside and now in peoples gardens too, as the growing incentive to provide natural habitats for wildlife and insects increases. With a beautiful bold form and subtle muted tones, the teasel is a humble British plant which I wanted to celebrate and capture in this print.
Each print is hand burnished using a wooden spoon. I use oil based inks for their longevity and vibrant colour. I have printed onto Japanese paper.
*The pictures are to illustrate design and colour. Due to the nature of the printing process, all prints have slight variations in depth of colour and placement.*
