December Print - Geranium

'Geranium' is the twelfth print in my 2019 Print Project.
It is a 4 colour linocut print depicting a Geranium seed packet illustration.
Designed and printed by Sophie.
The print is a limited edition of 20.
Each print has been editioned and signed.
Paper size: 19cm x 23cm

Geraniums (or Pelargoniums) are such a garden classic and a favourite house plant too. They have a wonderful distinctive scent. They also remind me of trips to Sweden, where they grow them in their homes, filling their windows all year round.
They come in so many wonderful colours and varieties, with striped petals and triple blooms. I chose to depict the classic red and white single bloom varieties. I just wish I could have also captured their scent.
Each print is hand burnished using a wooden spoon. I use oil based inks for their longevity and vibrant colour. I have printed onto Japanese paper.
*The pictures are to illustrate design and colour. Due to the nature of the printing process, all prints have slight variations in depth of colour and placement.*
