'Pansy' is the fifth print in my 2019 Print Project.
It is a 4 colour linocut print depicting a Pansy seed packet illustration.
Designed and printed by Sophie.
The print is a limited edition of 18.
Each print has been editioned and signed.
Paper size: 19cm x 23cm

I always think of pansies as being cheerful little plants, with their blooms looking like little smiling faces peering up at you.
These sweet flowers come in such a wonderful array of colours too, it was difficult to choose what fabulous colours to use for the print. I decided upon a mix of purply blues and yellows, as I feel these are some of the most classic colour ways. I also have a few in the garden myself.
Each print is hand burnished using a wooden spoon. I use oil based inks for their longevity and vibrant colour. I have printed onto Japanese paper.
*The pictures are to illustrate design and colour. Due to the nature of the printing process, all prints have slight variations in depth of colour and placement.*
